We started creating a sort of summer bucket list this year. I don't feel like it's complete yet so we'll have to review and add some, but first up on my list was strawberry picking. Yesterday we got one check on the bucket list! I should also warn anyone reading this that I plan on taking a ridiculous amount of photos this summer- like times when one should really just leave the camera at home, I will probably bring it anyway. There are several reasons behind this madness, which I really don't feel like listing right now. But yeah, lots of pictures this summer. Sometimes it's *ridiculous,* but I highly doubt I'm going to regret taking too many photos.

We went for a nice family canoe ride looking at fancy cottages.
Bubba and Dave fished with the girls.
The kids went skiing, banana boating, and took endless trips to the waterslide.
The kids played on the beach, went kayaking, did crafts with grandma, and took several paddle boat rides.
The girls painted my belly and Dave took pictures so we can show them to the baby one day.
We ate lots of marshmallows and spider dogs by campfire.
It was a good week away.
Some of my flowers were a bit wilted when I came back. I was worried about them while I was away because I'm a nerd like that.

Yesterday we returned from our family vacation. We are very fortunate that the last several years my parents have invited us to accompany them to a resort in Muskoka, which the girls very much look forward to. They've been talking about it for weeks, and it was a great kick off to our summer. It will take me a while to sort through vacation photos, and today I am back to work full swing- starting with a wedding today. We stopped at Krispy Kreme on the way there AND back this year, which made us all super happy. :) I like to photograph all these little moments, and I couldn't leave my camera unattended in the car anyway...

Last year we had this elaborate plan to do father's day photos. And time went on and we got distracted by other things, and never did them. So this year I made sure that it happened, and I'm so happy I did and that I have these special photos of my girls and their extra special daddy. :)
I hope they always remember how good their dad has been to them- the kind of dad that sometimes takes the extra time to curl their hair for them before school, or snuggle them to sleep at night- always striving to make them happy.
Hopefully while we are on holidays this week, I will be able to get some photos of my own dad with the girls 'cause he is pretty special too. He hasn't curled my hair recently, but he still makes me laugh often, and finds me the best yard sale finds. :)
Happy Father's Day to all the great dads out there!

The girls and I went for smoothies at the mall after school. Then we went and bought them dresses. (This is Zoe's. Reese's is yellow). Zoe had to go pee just as we were about to leave. It was annoying, but certainly not as annoying as stopping to change a baby's diaper will be so I guess I have just been pampered with big kids for too long. It will be hard readjusting. When Dave got home we went to Wendy's for dinner. Zoe screamed in the car because she couldn't find a hairbrush and didn't get to brush her hair. It was really annoying. When we got there she asked me to put it in a bun. Then things were good from there. She spent the evening outside and found a little playmate at the park so she was happy. Reese went to a sleepover. Just a couple more weeks of freedom for me, and then it's summer vacation for the girls. And after summer, we're having a baby. I am soaking in my peaceful mornings until then.
