Macro Wannabee

I don't have very many lenses for my camera, and I don't feel the need for too many. Now that I have a little business I try to save up for the top of the line ones and in the meantime I sit with lens envy. So today I was wishing for a macro, and then I remembered that I have a lens that I never really use with a kind of faux macro setting so I pulled out that and made due. And now I am over the macro thing for a little while, anyway. :) And besides which, I recognize that wanting does nothing for the enjoyment of that which we already have. So I'm going to sit and enjoy it, and draw orange and aqua rainbows, and cotton candy on a stick because I know I won't get to spent my whole life doing those things, but right now I can.

I like how Zoe writes me little notes these days, even saucy ones like this where she wrote "no" (for some reason) in my cotton candy stick. Today I was coming upstairs and noticed a little note lying on the floor.  I felt a little irritated at first because I hate scraps of paper lying around (and she's always leaving stuff lying around), but then I could not help but smile at the little note that she'd left at the top of the stairs that read "Love Mom." :) And of course I felt a little silly for that initial internal reaction.

Sunday (A Pictureless Post! Ack)

Well, you all know I don't like to post without a picture, but I have a few minutes to spare at work and haven't taken the pics off of my camera in the last couple of days. Now that I have a cute little smartphone, I've taken to Instagram, which is fun because I have my phone on me most of the time, and not my big camera. I NEVER want to be the type to exchange my real camera for a phone though so I still vow to take pictures on an almost daily basis with my actual camera. Still, I like the daily reflection on Instagram. It's fun for me, and surely annoying for my few followers. ;) But they are getting a break now because my SD card is full and I'm too lazy to dump it. I had to borrow Reese's Ipod today because I needed a little fix.
So if you want to watch me eat cheeseburgers and stuff, you can check me out here.
Anyway, Sunday was a pretty good one because we went to A & W, which I love, did some shopping, went to Kiwi Kraze, and I made some pretzels. It was kind of perfect to get out of our messy house when the kids were driving us crazy. And then I went to work. The End.
P.S. Lyndsay, if you read this, thanks for pointing out that I had word verification on my blog. For those that don't know my feelings on word verification, I CAN'T STAND IT!!! The new word verification is even worse. So it should be gone now.

Coffee Ring Art

Days and weeks go by so quickly these days. I realized I hadn't blogged yet this week. Zoe made some art yesterday. This idea was inspired by a coffee ring left on the table. I thought it would make some pretty art. We used food colouring instead of coffee though. ;)  I had these scraps left from many cd cases that I had cut, and I felt they would have some use. I hated to throw them all out. I just needed an idea. They were just perfect for this.

Creating

I've been trying to keep the girl busy these wintery days. Yesterday we did 3 crafts before lunch, but had she had her way, we would have kept going. She was loving it. She was gushing over how much she loved doing the fish bowl craft, and was right into it.
Admiring her work.

She requested that I share this picture of her two missing teeth. The smile is oh so natural looking,  right? ;)

In the light of the moon...

It is hard for me to get sharable pictures of my little Zo lately because she's always walking around in just her underwear. Our children are much more warm blooded than I am because this is not underwear weather. But in these, you can mostly just see her head, and I tried to crop where you could see more than that.
Sometimes I have song lyrics or sayings that run through my head over and over, and lately it has been a random quote, from The Very Hungry Caterpillar, which we haven't even read in quite a while. So yeah, it's random...
It is the very beginning of the book...

In the light of the moon a little egg lay on a leaf...
But these pictures are actually in the light of the setting sun. Anyway...
I bribed her with fruit roll to get that window reflection. I have no shame.

Easter Set 1

I was very happy with the turn out of my first set of Easter pics of the girls. I loved so many of them that I couldn't even look through them all. I am so thankful to have so many photos of my girls.  And this is the one time they will wear the headbands I made for them- Yay!

Love Day Prep

Today Zoe wrote out her Valentine's cards. It took her about 10 seconds to write her name on all of them so I am sure they are neatly written. ;) She threaded each lollipop through the holes herself and was willing to spend her own tooth fairy money to buy candy grams for 6 of her classmates. :) I didn't want to buy candy grams because I think it's kind of a hurtful concept for Kindergartens, really. It's hard to be left out at that age, I'm sure. But Dave willingly passed her a toonie when she couldn't find hers. Reese bought candy grams for her classmates too, but ONLY for girls while Zoe's were 50-50. Zoe and I had debates over her Valentine's day outfit. I had two special outfits for her to choose from and she was not a fan.  Reese showed me her outfit (a Valentine's Day dress!) and told me I could take joy in that. 1 out of 2 will have to do.

Our Day in Pictures

I have done a good job this week of achieving my goal of taking more daily pictures. Yes, my girlie changes aprons between bake jobs. Probably not that shocking though. I could not for the life of me get these pictures in order. I am not skilled with this, evidently.
