Ice Cream and Pumpkins

We took our girlies out for ice cream tonight, and then we took them to a farm near our house to pick out a couple of pumpkins and gourds. Pumpkins are so beautiful, like a natural work of art, and the girls clearly shared my excitement about picking their own. Dave though, not so much. He tried to rush them along, and balked at how many pumpkins I had in mind. The girls took their time though. They loved admiring the wonderful varieties.  I had to stop though when he told me he was running out of cash and cutting into my parking money for work! I will definitely go back again though, when I'm looking for something more unique than the grocery store variety. The prices were good too!

This one is one of my new favourite pictures.  Ice cream selection is such serious business.
Zoe's got her own style these days. No real point in fighting it...!

Buh-Bye Carpet Party

My husband likes to aim for the  super-fun-daddy award sometimes so he suggested we let the kids draw on the carpet before we ripped it up.  He is putting in hardwood stairs, and bamboo upstairs, and right now we are living in chaos, but it will be oh so sweet when it's done.

Back to School Lunch Making...

Well, I know some mommas love making back to school lunches. Between picky eaters, and running out of favourites, the lunch love lasts about a week in this house. Then it's just kind of a tiresome chore (shhh). I do love these little sandwiches cutters with the happy little animal faces though. Look how happy they are! It would almost make me hesitant to eat them...

Best. Ever. Baby Model.

My nephew came over today for a little cake smashing. He is turning one on October 1. He was seriously the best little model. He smiled a LOT, and he has an awesome smile and cutest cheeks. And then, to top it off, he finished his session by sitting on the cake. Perfect! I will try not to overload this thread with pics, but I have to post a few!

I am itching for some pictures to edit tonight. Unfortunately, I don't really have any I'd like to work with. After this week I should though! I won't likely post many on here, other than my own family photos, but if you'd like to check them out later this week, you can see them on Facebook- And if you want to like my page while you're there (if you haven't already kindly done so), it would be muchly appreciated. For now I will leave you with this not-so-lovely picture of my husband. Well, at least he wears a bike helmet, right? ♥

Chalk Drawing

We got in a little chalk drawing in tonight. We had some new 44 cent chalk to break in.  I love end of summer clearouts.  The air is getting cooler in the evenings now, and my favourite season is on its way. Looking forward to it!

Zoe's "Back to School" Photos

Since I had taken some back to school themed photos of Reese, I had to get Zoe in for a round too. This little dress quickly made it on my "best ever" list, and I had to get it for Zo (it's from Old Navy so it was fairly economical). The cashier at the store mentioned that she would like this dress in her size, and of course, I agreed! Birdies on a cute little collared dress? Sold!
Does Zoe look grouchy in this last pic? That's 'cause she could.not.wait. to eat the apple.

Some "Practice Pics"

I have been trying to scout out nearby locations for photo shoots. Reese was a very willing model on this particular day because she didn't want to play at the "boring" park. By "boring," she means a park with trails, a splash pad, and play equipment. So boring, right? Sometimes tweens can be moody. Go figure.
I never use this lens to take pics, but it worked out alright, and I may take it on more shoots. It's the only "zoom" lens I own.
If you want to checkout my website, you can go here  It's pretty basic right now. But considering I'm not a real "techy" girl, I think I'm doing okay.

People With Crazy Hair

So Reese was taking pictures of me with my camera. That's kind of awkward for an 8 year old 'cause it's really heavy and all. She told me my hair was messy. This from the child who styled her hair like the picture below, just a few days ago.  Yeah, messy...Uh huh.  I was afraid that it wouldn't come out. She styled that under her dad's supervision, of course, right? And worse, her friend did too. I didn't even know until the doorbell rang and it was time for her friend to go home. Ha. Hello fellow messy haired daughter. (Oh yeah, the second pic is of me asking for my camera back now. Funny that she caught that one.)
