Nothing Much to Post

I took a few pics of Zoe yesterday at the park. The weather has been great. This is when I am most grateful to be home with the kids. I figured I should make a quick post because it's best that I keep in the routine of posting. Then I'm off to do some Jillian Michaels Six Week Six Pack because it's good to keep at a fitness routine too- wish me luck!

Chalk Make Up

It probably would have been wise to stop this activity, but I just stood on the deck and snapped pics instead. Fortunately there has been no rash break out like the time Reese painted Zoe's face and body with a thick layer of face paint. Face paint in small quantities= probably okay. Face paint in large quantities=not so good.

Part 2

Yesterday a few minutes after we arrived at the picnic, a bird pooped on my head. I told the children it was good luck, but they didn't believe me. I think the truth is that it's just something someone made up to make the person who was pooped on feel better. Thankfully I remembered to wash my hair last night before bed.

A Great Day For Photos- Part One

We had a picnic to go to today, and then Storybook Gardens after that. It was a fun day, and in the earlier part of the day, when it was not too sunny yet, the lighting was just perfect for taking photos (lucky me!)
The children had a great time at Storybook this year- I am not sure they wanted to leave. So it was a good thing Dave's soccer game was cancelled today. They also really loved "the snake lady." They loved the snakes and other reptiles and wanted to hold them all (multiple times!)

Some Random Pics

Some of my Superstore Flyer pieces have now become hair flowers.

I haven't really taken any pics I'm enjoying lately. But since it's been a few days since I've posted any pics of my children, I figured I'd share some of those. We've had a really rainy Spring here, and I've taken a limited number of outdoor pics. But since I've been outside to take pics a few times, I'm reminding of the challenge of shooting in bright sun with a lot of shadows. I might need to do some reading. I've also decided it's time for a flash... Soon hopefully...

Recycled Flyer Flowers and Other Fun Stuff

1) An adorable new necklace that arrived for me today. Purchased here. (Warning: addictive.)
2) "Flowers" I made from the Superstore Flyer. It is was slightly addicting. Projects to follow...
3) My new ruffle bikini. Ruffles are fun. (Note: It's very awkward to take a picture of your ruffle bikini while you are wearing it, and while trying not too get much skin in the photo. This results in shaky, awkward photos.)
4) Second adorable necklace that arrived with the first one.

Lovable Labels Ultimate Camp Pack Review and Giveaway!

These are just 3 of the 10 Ultimate Camp Packs you can choose

This is my favourite Lovable Labels pack yet. My personal favourite is Polka Dot Me- a huge hit with any polka dot lover, like myself. There is a nice variety of colours in this pack too. The pack includes a wide selection of labels for clothing, shoes, and just about anything else. But don't let the name fool you- it's not just great for campers, it's great for anyone. I had our pack labeled for Reese, who is going to art camp this summer, but it would make a great back-to-school pack, or be perfect for labeling your child's things for daycare.

The Camp Pack includes the following attractive, fun, and durable labels:

•15 Regular Sticker Labels
•40 Slimline Sticker Labels
•72 Press n'Stick Clothing DOTS
•12 Shoe Labels
•2 Mini-Metal Tags (Two 20mm rings for attachment included)
•12 Square Labels

Once again, I am very satisfied with the quality of these labels. I'd never tried the metal tags before, and I love how cute it looks on Reese's backpack.
Lovable Labels are Dishwasher safe, microwave safe, waterproof, washer/dryer safe, sun safe, bleach safe, sunscreen safe, temperature safe, and pretty much everything you could want in a label. The Ultimate Camp Pack is available in 10 varieties, which can be seen here.

Camera Strap Cover

We returned from our trip this afternoon and when I checked the mail, my much awaited camera strap cover had arrived. I tried to take a picture of it. I wasn't so successful. It has a nice pink/purple colour in the pattern that you can't see in the pic. Anyway, I am loving it and all its ruffle-ly-ness.
Anyway, our trip was good, but we did get nearly FIVE hours lost. Yeah, that part kind of sucked, but it all worked out. Just so you all know, there is a township of Bethlehem PA, and a city (which is way cooler) and they are about 4.5 hours apart. Just in case you ever wondered. ;)
I have a serious case of raccoon eyes. I may need to consider smaller sunglasses.

Shoes and Stuff

I can not even go out to the grocery store without buying something (or many things) unplanned. Today it was these shoes- a cute-ish Croc like style for $5 at No Frills, and some pretty red gerber daisies for my planters.
The girls were being so best friend like tonight that I really had no choice but to allow them the sleepover proposed by Reese. I could quite possibly pay for this tomorrow morning...

Three Days 'til the Long Weekend

I am looking forward to the long weekend. I was sidetracked for a bit tonight by my crying, devastated children, who were upset because they won't be staying in a hotel room or accompanying us to Pennsylvania this weekend. I am not even sure it will be all that fun for me, as Dave is going on a soccer tournament, and I'm coming along to go shopping, but from the sounds of it this city has no shopping. It could be interesting and probably not the best situation for kids. I have smoothed things over with Reese. It will cost me a date night with dinner and a movie when I return. And I need to bring her back a present from the trip- a present that she can wear. I think I can deal with that. It is unfortunate that I have instilled such materialism in my children, but you know what they say, "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree." ;)

Random Collage

Tonight I decided to make this random collage of random things over the last few days. I really wanted to get outside and take pictures of my tulips (which I have lots of now!) I love how they look with little droplets of rain on them. But I guess it doesn't really matter about today because I've heard it's supposed to rain for seven days. The rain droplets on my tulips are going to have to be the "silver lining" here. Yup. Rain for seven days.

A Live One!

It's been hard to get back into blogging lately. Maybe it's just a phase, or maybe I'm over it. I'm not sure, but I'm going to try to get back into it. Here is a live little guy that was strolling down the street. Some of our friends have now taken him in to keep as a pet. I am glad he is safely off the streets now.

The girls went shopping at Claire's the other night. They have now added even more to their huge accessory collections. I love the flowers and necklaces though.

I was playing around with Photoshop last night...
I had to get a quick blog post in now or I wasn't going to get one in today. After we pick up Reese, we are headed to swim class, and when we get back, Dave is taking Zoe on a "date," and I am taking Reese. Reese and I are going to East Side Marios. Should be fun! She likes to get dressed up for our dates. :)

So My Tulips Did Come Up...

This was definitely exciting and noteworthy so I decided to blog about it. Actually, I asked Dave to upload my pics while he was on the computer, and he clearly forgot to press a button so yeah, anyway...So I borrowed pics from yesterday. This could have been a Walmart ad (see big W sticker on Reese's hand), except for the whole hand in her mouth thing, I guess it's not all that attractive. Ha. I think she may be wiggling for another loose one...Imagine the nightmares I could have over a mouth full of empty tooth holes.

Just Poppin' in to Say Hello

Since I haven't blogged in a few days, I thought I'd give a quick update- well, not really an update on anything actually, other than to say I am too busy enjoying this nice weather to sit in the basement and do things like blog. So that's where I've been! I mean, I do live in Canada and all so this nice weather could be gone tomorrow. ;) I should really be out jogging right now, but I'm sitting down here, finding myself melting into laziness.
Reese bought these cute little glasses at Claire's tonight. One day she'll get real ones in a style like this. I think they suit her. She lost her front tooth this morning. It had been half hanging there for a few days. This is kind of traumatic for me.

Sun Flare

I saw a tiny, dead turtle on the side of my street today. I think this is the second time in the nearly eight years we have lived on this street that I have seen a tiny dead turtle at the side of the road. It's kind of weird because you don't just see little turtles strolling down the street around here. So I'm not sure where they come from. I wanted to take pics of it, but I waited until the evening, and by then someone had picked it up. It's probably kind of strange that I wanted to photograph a dead turtle anyway...So some sun flare it is.

Lovable Labels Address Label Winner is...

Glogirl! Congrats Glogirl, you are the winner of the Lovable Labels address label giveaway. You will be contacted by email by Lovable Labels and have 48 hours to respond to their email.
Thanks to all those who entered! Next week I will be doing a camp pack review and giveaway. Stay tuned!

Some Spring

I should have called this Spring un-bloom. Something is wrong with my tulips. I don't think they are going to bloom. Everyone else's have bloomed, but my would-be petals are already starting to fall off, without actually blooming. I hope this doesn't have a deeper life meaning. Ha.

Barn

We went looking for ponies this evening. They weren't out, but the kids didn't seem to mind. Only Zoe really cared about the ponies anyway. Reese just wanted to pick dandelions. They picked dandelions and collected rabbit food, and found other ways to amuse themselves and put off bedtime. Later and later.

Real V.S. Perceived Memories

I can not stress enough how important it is to take pictures of your children being cute and cuddly together. The hope is that the photographs left behind will one day be enough to cloud the memories of the screaming, scratching, and biting. ;)
P.S. Please give me some tips on how to enlarge photos on my blog. Thanks!

Kobo's Little Bed

Instead of buying a case for my new Kobo, I decided to make one. I enjoy hand stitching felt. One day I may set up my sewing machine, thread it, and go through all that bother of trying to figure out why it skips stitches, but for now, hand sewing it is. I'm happy with the results though. Usually when I make something I end up deciding it didn't turned out as I'd planned (and this goes for pics too!) But this time (surprise!) it worked out well. Reese wanted to keep it so I'm going to make her a pencil case instead.
