Frozen Yogurt

I bought these six little Minigos for 97 cents. Then when we got home I cut a little hole in the top of each one, and stuck baby spoons in them. I was going to use popsicle sticks cut in half, but I couldn't find the sticks so I used these instead, and I think it was actually a better idea. I guess we will find out after school when they are done freezing! And to think I almost got rid of these little spoons because I thought we no longer had a use for them...

Prepping our "Park"

Dave was on holidays this past week, and he worked hard all week prepping our backyard for the big wood chip delivery this weekend. Today he put the swing set back up and assembled the trampoline. There is still a lot to be done, but our "park" is coming along quite nicely. Here are a few pics of Zoe enjoying the backyard. I don't have any trampoline pics today because I took these before it was set up, but I am sure there will be quite a few of those before the end of the summer.

Storybook

Today we went to the family picnic for Dave's work. It was a fun day, but also very hot. Well, that sure beats rain for a picnic day!

The "snake lady" was at the picnic

Reese didn't even mind when the snake crawled down her shirt!

The kids getting sprayed...always kind of amusing for the parents. ;)

Here are a couple of pictures Dave took. It wouldn't be Storybook without some Humpty Dumpty pics! Well, I'm not sure that Dave feels the same way, but I asked him to take some pics anyway.
I figured I should probably be in my blog once in a while

A Quick Pic

A couple months ago we had a picnic table made for the girls by a fellow blogger's husband. He made this thing so fast! (Thanks Andrea!) Well, then it had to sit in the garage for a while, but Dave was on holidays this week so he had a chance to stain it. So here is a pic of the girls this morning, enjoying some PC juice freezies at their new picnic table.

My Zoe

This morning I picked out clothes for Zoe, and I was actually able to convince her to wear my choice. And after some persuading, she even wore her hair up...for a while. So of course with all this going my way, I took the opportunity to take plenty of pics before she stripped down. And she eventually did strip down because it is a perfect day for nudey, or at least half nudey swimming, apparently. The threads on her bikini (top) of choice had become loose so it looks like that one is now a bottoms only suit. No pictures of that event, of course!
And on that note, I must go pick up my other little one from school. Have a great day!

Pinocchio and some Freezies

For some reason unknown to me, I felt like taking a picture of this little Pinocchio. Maybe it is because he's so cute and colourful. He is from the new Shrek movie, but don't ask me how it is because we've never seen it, or any of the other Shrek movies. Or if you've seen it, feel free to give me your review. ;) The jar of freezies is for Reese's school fun fair. I stuck with a red, pink and purple theme, and in all honesty it was largely influenced by the popularity of the white, blue and orange freezies in this household. Zoe actually likes all the colours so I figured there must be some other kids that like (shudders) pink-watermelon freezies, right?

Kiddie Pool Time

If you've stepped outside today, which you probably have, you'll know how crazy hot it is out there. It's so crazy hot that even I had to put on my swim gear, after I cleaned and repaired our little turtle pool, of course. That poor little guy is suffering, and the red duct tape repairs only highlight that. It does that trick though. We won't really have room for anything bigger than that little pool once the backyard is fully set up.

The hose is good for a quick drink

A Super Fun Victoria Day

This morning I told Reese about our plans for today and she was excited because she "thought it was just going to be a regular, boring day." We went to the Children's Museum for the annual Teddy Bear Picnic. The girls decorated cookies, had their faces painted, and did a quick craft, and then we headed to Ivy Park. The girls had a great time, but then we needed to head home because Dave had work to do in the yard, and we were getting really hot. When we returned, I took the girls over to one of Reese's friends and they played and ran in the sprinkler while the adults enjoyed beverages, and it was all very fun.

Sparkler

Dave and I went on a date tonight and when we got home, I asked him to hold a sparkler for me because I hadn't taken a single picture all day. I will put in a better effort tomorrow, I promise.

Just Imagine, Okay?

Just imagine how cute this photo could have been if it were actually in focus. I still think it's pretty sweet anyway. Whenever the girls are being really cute, I have to snap pics really fast. I don't have time to turn on the lights or do anything else to prepare for good picture taking. I just snap fast. I took this picture while the girls were nicely watching Camp Rock together. I don't know how long this playing nicely will last, but I'm pretty thankful for it because I think today is going to be a pretty long day. Once again, our plans got rained out. It is going to be just the three of us all day, and all evening, and I don't think the weather is going to cooperate.
And as I type this, of course the fighting and tears begin...sisters!

Hanging out

Here is a pic of the children hanging out in their clubhouse, while they ate freezies and watched me digging up the grass in the backyard. They said they were "watching a movie." Get it? Watching me work is apparently a form of entertainment for them.

Freezies and Friends

I have to make this post fast, as it is cutting into Grey's time and we all know that tonight is the big finale.
Anyway, it was a beautiful day outside and we really enjoyed it. Well, I did enjoy a bit of shopping in the morning first, but then we really enjoyed it for the rest of the day!
