Snow Sculptures

I took the first pic this morning. All that grain is from the screen because I took it from inside the warm house. Reese made this yesterday. I think she was making a snowman when I called her in for snack. I'm not quite sure though, as she didn't get a chance to finish it. The second pic is from earlier this week, but it goes with the theme. Each ball represented an object. Reese told me what each thing was, but don't ask me because there were too many and they were completely obscure! I think one was a pear and one was an airplane or something odd like that. It was cute though because she pointed each one out and named it with such certainty, but I'm pretty sure she was making it up as she told me. ;)

Wooden Dolls

Today I saw this ad for these necklaces in my inbox. Lucky for me, I already paint dolls like these. So I think I might make some necklaces too. I think they would make a nice addition to the loot bags for Reese's birthday party next month. Here are a few I made for the dollhouse. I went a little overboard when I first started making them. The boys are still upstairs waiting to be finished though.

mmm snow.
"Get off my giant snow ball!"
Some sisterly un-love
Reese and her giant snow ball.

For those that asked, this is how I made the Peanut Buttercups. I melted some milk chocolate chips (Nestle Tollhouse Morsels, specifically). I put medium size muffin liners into muffin tins. Then I spread the chocolate in the liners. I filled them about halfway, but it depends how thick you want the chocolate. Then I let them harden in the fridge. I mixed 1 part icing sugar for every 2 parts peanut butter. Then I spread that in the middle. Finally, I melted more chocolate, and put a layer on top. Then I let them harden in the fridge because I could not wait for them to harden at room temp. The amount of chocolate and filling you want all depends on how many you want to make. I made too much filling and have more in fridge, which means I guess I will have to make some more! Right now though, I am attempting muffins for the second time today. Cross your fingers for me that these ones turn out better than this mornings...

Homemade Peanut Butter Cup

I made these yesterday. I just consumed my third one. That seems pretty disciplined to me. They are large compared to the Reese Peanut Butter cups though.

Winter/Summer Girl

I mentioned signing Zoe up for summer swim class, and that's all it took. She was off upstairs to change into a swimsuit. But would the outfit be complete without a winter hat and boots?
Who put the childproof lock on this thing?

Work by her "tattoo" artist, Reese. It is a tattoo of Reese and Zoe.

Saturday Randoms

Here are some random pics from today.
It amuses me that my kids are often wearing random hats around the house. And tonight it was a random hat, plus a sticky note stuck to it. Please excuse the pop can in her face.

I made some tomato herb bread today.

Here is the finished product. It was tasty, but I will need to make some more improvements.

I also tried a new onion ring recipe in my delicious deep fryer. It worked out quite nicely, but next time I will be adding seasoned salt. I think that is what A & W puts in theirs, and it I like their onion rings a lot.

Photos to Hide

Reese hates when Zoe uses her lip balm because sometimes Zoe likes to taste it. Today Reese is at school...

I Spy

Making music. Or noise.

Playing "What time is it Mr. Wolf?"

Making an "eye spy" bottle.

The eye spy stuff.

An afternoon craft. I found this cool Amy Butler paper at Michaels.

Cool Toys from my Cool Parents

Today was a very exciting day. My parents returned from their month-and-a-half trip to Arizona. They stopped to visit us on their way home. The girls were very excited because they adore their grandparents. My sweet parents bought me this awesome Wizard of Oz Pez dispenser collection, and this cool pancake pan that I saw in a magazine and coveted. They also brought Zoe the swimsuit she is modeling.
My parents pointed out that they had noticed some grammatical errors in my writing. Well, I didn't actually look through my posts to find them, but...These kind of things happen often to lazy people that don't reread their work. I wish I could tell you I will change, but I probably won't go back and reread this post either. It is my hope that anyone who reads my posts can translate them back to English in his/her own head. ;)

Cucumbers and Rotten Teeth

I have titled this post after the first pic. I saw these rotten teeth lying on the kid's table and I am pretty sure you don't hear "cucumbers and rotten teeth" too often in the same sentence. Nor do I think you will see them side by side too often. So that is almost creative photography, I think. Zoe loves those things, and she'll often ask, "where my rotty teeth?" Well today, they are lying beside her plate of cucumbers, apparently.

These last two pics were taken by the window with way too much light coming in, but I left this last pic unedited because I kind of like too much light sometimes. In the other one, I played with "cool tones."

Picture Overload, Courtesy of Family Day

We went tobogganing for family day. It was Zoe's first time. The girls had a great time, other than one incident where Reese flipped over a bump and got snow burn, and another where Zoe landed face first in the snow. We also went to the Children's Museum. I don't know that I would go back there again on family day. It was crazy busy at the museum, but a great day for tobogganing! We ordered Papa John's Pizza for dinner. The girls had a long bubble bath tonight- Reese was in there for two hours! I'd say it was a good family day. :)
